Event Report : 3rd Annual Conference

On February 15, 2025, the 3rd Annual Conference of the Joint Doctoral Program for Sustainability Research (JDPSR) was held at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT).

The conference began with poster presentations by three students and two assistant professors.

After the poster session, three students delivered oral presentations. During the  Q&A session, numerous questions were raised by both professors and students.

Through the Q&A session, the students were able to deepen their understanding of their research and gain new perspectives.

Following the student presentations, Professors Akinori Yamanaka and Yoshiko Kawabata introduced the West Tokyo Joint Center for Sustainability Research and Implementation and shared a report on its recent activities.

After all the presentations, an award ceremony was held to recognize students for their outstanding work.
(All poster and oral presentations were evaluated by the participants, and certificates of achievement were awarded to the students with the highest scores in each category.)

The award winners were:

Mr. Jordão Laurindo Manuel (UEC, Prof. Yamamoto Lab) for Best Poster,
Mr. Imam Ghazali Yasmint (UEC, Prof. Yamamoto Lab) for Best Presentation, and
Mr. NSENGIYUMVA Majune Ignace (TUFS, Prof. Takeuchi Lab) for Best Paper.

Following the ceremony, a social gathering was held, where students interacted with faculty and peers over a shared meal, exchanging ideas and strengthening their relationships.
