Robotics is an interdisciplinary area that involves not only engineering technologies such as mechanics, electronics, and artificial intelligence, but also human science such as physiology, psychology, and neuroscience. It is expected to be an essential technology to realize the sustainable development of human society by providing labor, care, service, and even
companionship. The mission of our lab is to facilitate the communication, interaction, and integration between human and robot. We are developing rehabilitation robots to substitute or restore body functions, human assistive robots to provide care to physically challenged people, and human robot interfaces to improve the usability of robots.
