On Saturday, December 2, 2023, “Open Seminar of the West Tokyo Joint Center for Sustainability Research and Implementation” was held at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT).
We had the pleasure of welcoming a diverse audience, including students, working professionals and citizens. The seminar was organized with the close collaboration of experts from TUAT, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) and the University of Electro-Communications (UEC), who continue research and practical implementation in the field of food and agriculture.
They delivered lectures on the following themes:
- “Cacao Cultivation in Ghana: The Possibility of Introducing Successional Agroforestry” Prof. Atsushi CHITOSE, TUAT
- “What African Food Cultural History Research Inquires” Prof. Hiroki ISHIKAWA, TUFS
- “Smart Urban Agriculture and Beekeeping Utilizing AI & IoT Technologies” Prof. Akashi SATOH, UEC
Lively question-and-answer sessions were given after the presentations, making the seminar a great success.
We will organize open seminars as part of the food and agriculture series next spring.
