On February 17, 2024, the second Annual Conference of the Joint Doctoral Program for Sustainability Research (JDPSR) was held at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS). Seven doctoral students (D1 and D2) presented their research at the event, attracting diverse academics and professionals to discuss sustainability.
The conference, held in the afternoon, began with poster presentations from four students. These presentations offered insight into their current research projects.
Following the poster session, three students gave oral presentations, delving into their research with more details. These presentations provided deeper understanding of their work and prompted further discussion among the attendees.
The day concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing standout contributions:
Mr. Imam Ghazali Yasmint (UEC, Prof. Yamamoto Lab) received the Best Poster Award, Mr. Manzu Gerald Simon Kenyi (UEC, Prof. Yamamoto Lab) received the Best Presentation Award, and Ms. Xiaoxiao Liu (TUFS, Prof. Takeuchi Lab) received the Best Paper Award.
This year’s JDPSR conference served as a platform for sharing and discussing ongoing research in sustainability. While the presentations and discussions were a central part of the event, the emphasis was also on collective learning and exchanging ideas. The conference highlighted the diverse approaches to sustainability research and the importance of academic dialogue in advancing the field.
